Daisy Edgar-Jones:
I'd say my experience as an audience member at the Almeida has always been really brilliant. It's a very intimate space, you feel like you're being taken along by the actors and the story because you can actually, you know, see them breathe and you can see their facial expressions and you're not far away, you're completely within the story and I think that's so wonderful.

Ivana Todorovska:
The Almeida has a wonderful energy. The moment you step inside you feel overwhelmed by the artistic creativity it has, by the space it provides for new talents to grow.

Azan Ahmed:
The Almeida has offered me literally everything to do with my arts career. It's got me the job I'm currently doing, I'm currently rehearsing at the National Theatre and I got that gig because someone from the casting department there saw our Young Company show. What the Almeida does to someone like me, who has no theatre background, whose family isn't in the arts, it allows you to get your foot in the door and review all these opportunities and a pathway that you can end up paving yourself.

Ivana Todorovska:
The theatre can articulate what we sometimes find impossible to say in our daily lives.

Daisy Edgar-Jones:
And that's really important because the world needs to be much more empathetic, we need to know each other stories and we need to hear them, and I think the arts is the best way to do that.

Azan Ahmed:
We need to allow for fresh ideas and new minds to come in make exciting work and challenge us as audiences and as a community.

Daisy Edgar-Jones:
Even when sold out the ticket sales only provide 40 percent of what the Almeida needs to operate.

Ivana Todorovska:
In addition to its Arts Council subsidy and Box Office income, it must raise over two million pounds each year.

Azan Ahmed:
It's only through donations that the Almeida can continue to make amazing productions, provide chances for new actors, directors and writers to be heard, and connect with young people and the community.

Ivana Todorovska:
It's a critical time for us to raise more funds and to really have your support.
