By Peter Eötvös
£6 - £22
As I Crossed a Bridge of Dreams is based on the diary of an anonymous 10th century Japanese noblewoman, known as Lady Sarashina. Eötvös uses sound design to conjure up her fragile dream world. Premiered in 1999, these are the first UK performances of this extraordinary 'sound theatre' written for actor, three singers, two virtuoso trombonists and pre-recorded ensemble.
Peter Eötvös’ operas include Le Balcon (after Genet) Three Sisters and Angels in America and his forthcoming Glyndebourne commission, Love And Other Demons, based on the Gabriel Garcia Marquez story.
