Almeida Theatre Live makes its debut broadcast with Richard III from the Almeida stage to cinemas in the UK and around the world, in association with Picturehouse Entertainment, produced by Illuminations Media.

A peaceful England. Family. Small children. But obstacles can be overcome.

Almeida Artistic Director Rupert Goold (King Charles IIIThe Merchant of VeniceMedea) brings Shakespeare's most notorious villain to the Almeida Theatre with a cast that includes Ralph Fiennes as Richard and Vanessa Redgrave as Queen Margaret. 

The filming will be produced by John Wyver (RSC Live; BBC's Hamlet with David Tennant and Macbeth with Patrick Stewart, directed by Rupert Goold).  For the screen, Rupert also directed Richard II for the BBC’s The Hollow Crown series.
