production information

Why do dramatic styles emerge in certain times and in certain places? How do religions, politics, geographies shape the stories that are told? And do the best stories speak specifically to a community, or universally?

Ebenezer Bamgboye, Atri Banerjee, Nastazja Domaradzka, Anthony Lau, Audrey Sheffield and Cherrelle Skeete discuss their explorations into global theatrical traditions.

2500 years of theatre, from ritual and opera to contemporary drama. What can today’s playwrights mine from the past and what will this mean for the future of Chinese theatre?

Panelists include Ruru Li and Amy Ng. Some panellists will be participating remotely via Zoom.

This event is part of Six Artists in Search of a Play
