In November 2014, the Almeida production of Our Town was taken to two schools in outer London. The entire cast and crew traveled to Bexley and Ealing to perform the full show in these schools' halls for their students. Neither borough has a professional theatre, so the project was part of our commitment to take the production, and ultimately our theatre, right to them.

"We are delighted that we are able to take our production of Our Town to schools in Bexley and Ealing; two boroughs without professional theatres. The work that Almeida Projects does with schools and young people is enormously inspiring, and I am so glad that we are able to continue to find exciting ways to bring our work to more young people across London."
- Rupert Goold, Artistic Director
Alongside these one-off performances, students from each school explored the idea of community through a project called Your Town. Select students from Cleeve Park School in Bexley and Dormers Wells School in Ealing took inspiration from the Our Town Stage Manager’s introduction to Grover's Corners, then created a short video exploring what community looks like in their own towns: Southall in Ealing and Sidcup in Bexley.
The programme of workshops and schools performances was generously supported by The Chapman Charitable Trust and The Noël Coward Foundation.
