Book any of our Captioned performances by calling the Box Office on 020 7359 4404 or email boxoffice@almeida.co.uk. If you have issues with speaking or hearing, you can also book via the text relay service Relay by BT.
Our auditorium layout changes with each production, so if you require captioning it’s best to book via Box Office so we can ensure you’re in the best seats to view the caption screen. We regularly hold back tickets for these performances for those who need to make use of our access provisions. So even if the performance looks sold out online it’s worth contacting the Box Office.

What Happens at a Captioned Performance?
A caption unit or screen on stage will display the actors’ words as they are spoken (or sung), and provide information such as sound effects and music. Captioning can also be useful for people who speak English as a second language, and when strong accents are used by actors.
Due to the nature of our auditorium, the caption screen may not be visible from every seat so it’s best to contact our Box Office who will be able to advise you on the best seats to book. Contact them on 020 7359 4404 or email boxoffice@almeida.co.uk.
Audio Induction Loop
There is an infrared assisted hearing system in the auditorium. To use this please collect a headset from the kiosk in the theatre foyer. A refundable deposit of £5 is required for each headset loaned, payable to the kiosk usher when you collect.
There is also a portable induction loop in the Bar, Kiosk and Box Office for hearing aid users.
Assistance dogs
Assistance dogs are welcome in the auditorium, please request an aisle seat when you book. Alternatively our staff are happy to dog-sit for you, just let the Box Office know in advance of your visit. Unfortunately we are unable to allow emotional support dogs into the auditorium.
