Facilities
Discover more about our building and what provisions we have available, including a seating plan for our current production.
Entrance
The entry doors are split into a sliding glass door on the left, and two push glass doors on the right. The sliding glass door is operated by a push pad button on the wall to the left.
Foyer
As you enter the theatre, the Café and Bar is immediately through the doors to the left and the Box Office is to the right. Next to the Box Office is a ramp which provides access to the toilets and auditorium. There is a limited amount of bench seating that runs along the ramp and back wall.
At the back of the foyer (at the end of the bar) is the Kiosk where programmes and posters can be purchased, as well as headsets collected for those requiring hearing enhancement in the auditorium.
We unfortunately do not have a cloakroom or storage space.
Box Office
Tickets are able to be collected from the Box Office which has a desk height of 91cm. Disabled customers may also ask to use the Box Office phone to arrange a pick up or call a taxi.
Ramp
The foyer ramp is in two sections: the first section has a 13:1 gradient, and the second section has a 17:1 gradient. The ramp’s first section provides access to the toilets (including the accessible toilet), and the second section leads to the auditorium stalls entrance.
Alternatively, there are six steps to the stalls entrance, which are divided into two sections: the first section has two steps, then turning left there are four more steps to the auditorium door on your right. Unfortunately we do not have a lift.
Toilets
The toilets are situated at the back of the foyer (to the left) and can be accessed via the ramp or steps. There is one accessible toilet for the priority of disabled audiences.
In addition, there are handles in each of the end cubicles in the ladies, the cubicle farthest from the door is wider and the door opens outward. There are no toilets in the circle.
Café & Bar
Open from two hours before a performance, the Café & Bar serves a daily changing menu of food and a great selection of drinks. You can also pre-order drinks for the interval by speaking to a member of the bar team.
A section of the bar counter is low level (0.9m), and access needs have been taken into account with the provision of all glassware, crockery and cutlery. Hearing dogs and guide dogs are welcome.
If you have mobility or access requirements, then please let us know and we will do our best to reserve you a space. Please contact the Box Office on 020 7359 4404 or contact access@almeida.co.uk.
Circle Entrance
The entrance to the circle is on the outside of the building located to the right of the main entrance. The first door leads to seats 1 – 17, and the second door leads to seats 18 – 33. Each stairway has 27 steps and handrails are fitted on either side. There is no lift to the circle.
Auditorium
Access to the stalls entrance (209 seats) is via six steps or up a ramp. Access to the circle (112 seats) is via one of two stairways, each of 27 steps.
In the stalls there is level access in the first three rows of the centre block and the first two rows in the side blocks (Rows A-C). However, please note our auditorium changes with each production, and you can view a detailed view of the auditorium layout below.
Seating Plan
The exact seating layout of the auditorium changes with each production. If you would like further information about the seating plan of a specific production please contact the Box Office on 020 7359 4404 or boxoffice@almeida.co.uk.
