Meet friends for food and drink before or after your performance
The café is light and airy in the daytime, ideally situated just off Upper Street with newspapers and Wi-Fi available. In the evening it becomes a lively bar for the public, audiences and actors alike. Whether you are catching up with some work, or starting your evening at the theatre with us, we offer a range of coffees, a carefully chosen list of wines, and a changing list of cocktails.

To help keep everyone safe:

  • All staff will continue to wear masks, and customers will need to wear one when moving around the venue.
  • We ask only one member of a party to queue at the bar to order.
  • Customers may not drink at the bar.
  • Please respect each others' distance when ordering at the bar.
  • Drinks may be taken outside at any point or into the auditorium from half an hour before the performance.

Simple, quality food, freshly prepared and locally sourced
We believe in small-scale, simple and sustainable. We value working with local suppliers and serve gin from Sacred Distillery and beers from Hammerton Brewery & Umbrella.

Pre-theatre dining and post-show socialising
For a hot chocolate or a hearty red, the bar is open until 10.30pm, and children are welcome until 9pm. We have a great wine list, local beers and a tempting menu of cocktails.

Opening Times
Unfortunately, the Café & Bar is not open in the interim periods when productions are changing over. Due to occasional fundraising events we may run a restricted service on food and drink in the Almeida Café & Bar. If you would like to ensure the bar is open, please contact us on 020 7359 4404 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
