Free drama workshops for young people
Open Sessions are FREE drama workshops for young people at the Almeida Theatre.
The sessions are a fun and relaxed way to get involved with theatre and develop your skills. Sessions are one-off, you can drop in without any further commitment.

Thu 27 Nov 6.30pm (approx. 1.5 hours)
Location: Almeida Rehearsal Room, 108 Upper St.
Led by Takiyah Kamaria, in this workshop you’ll learn and experiment with a variety of acting techniques that will help you to make sure that your audition material stays fresh every time it’s performed. You’ll leave the session with a toolkit full of playful exercises that you can use time and time again for every monologue or audition.
This workshop is for 14-18 year olds.

Applying for jobs in the arts industry and looking for help with your CV and interview techniques? Then look no further!
Join Participation Producer Beth Bowden and Participation Coordinator Alice Eve in this 2-hour practical workshop exploring how to write a cover letter, the dos and don’ts for your CV, and how to refine your interview technique.
This workshop is for participants aged between 16-25.

Tue 9 Dec 6.30pm (approx. 2 hours)
Location: Almeida Rehearsal Room, 108 Upper St.
Interested in producing or making your own work? Passionate about developing a sustainable practice? This workshop, led by Alice Eve, will demystify key elements related to environmentally conscious theatre making.
It is suitable for artists and producers of all experience levels. Whether you’re a freelancer, working in a venue, or developing work on any scale – you will be challenged to imagine what it would mean to work in a sustainable theatre sector.
Alice gained her Master’s degree in Creative Producing from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and is certified Carbon Literate. She is the Participation Coordinator at the Almeida Theatre where she leads the Young Producers programme.
