Directed By Rupert Goold & Robert Icke
On 14 August, we brought you The Iliad. More than 60 artists, 18,255 lines of text, and an audience of more than 50,000 people across the world, watching online or in person at the Almeida and the British Museum.
On 12 November, as the closing event of our Almeida Greeks festival season, we’re bringing you The Odyssey.
There are four locations on the route where audiences are invited to experience the reading live (due to the nature of the performance spaces you will need to be 12+ years to join us):
8.30am Almeida Theatre
11am Tower Pier, London EC3N 4DT
3pm Islington Town Hall, Upper Street, London N1 2DU
5pm Secret location*
*Meet at the Almeida Theatre and be taken to an undisclosed location nearby
It's free to come and hear some of our greatest actors performing live - but spaces are strictly limited and tickets will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Members of the Almeida Team will be there to welcome you at each location. We advise you to dress warmly and wear sturdy shoes as some surfaces may be uneven and some walking may be required. Please be aware that food and drink may not be consumed at some of the venues.
The Odyssey will be live-streamed here. If you can't join the reading on location you can also soak up the atmosphere by watching the live stream throughout the day in the Almeida Theatre foyer or at our temporary Home(r) at 129 - 130 Upper Street (next to John Salt Bar).
