Young Designers and Technicians

Our Young Designers and Technicians Programme is for those interested in exploring the design, technical and stage management roles that make theatre happen.

Young Designers and Technicians is a free project running in February half-term, to introduce young people aged 14-19 to roles in design, technical theatre, and stage management. 

What will you do?

You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and practical skills in tours and workshops run by the Almeida Theatre, National Theatre Skills Centre, and Mountview. You will work with Almeida production staff, as well as freelance industry professionals, and take part in practical workshops exploring costume, sound design, lighting design, and stage management. 

Who is it for?

If you are aged 14-19 years old and are interested in finding out more about backstage and offstage roles in theatre. If you have an interest, skill, or knowledge in design, visual art, technology, fashion or music then the Young Designers and Technicians pathway may be for youNo previous experience is necessary to apply. 

Access and Support

This programme is completely free to take part in, and we’re able to offer travel or food expenses to support participants. We’re committed to supporting participants with access requirements.
