Golden Boy

This is Oscar’s professional stage debut.

Oscar attends Stagecoach Barnet. He is an accomplished violinist and member of the National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain. He is also Head Chorister at St. John the Baptist Church, Barnet where he leads the choristers at weekly Choral Evensong.

He has been a regular soloist at performances of the Fauré Requiem and at the annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols.

Anton trains at the National Children’s Orchestra, London Children’s String Orchestra, House of Talent and New London Performing Arts Centre.

Clifford Odets began his career in 1931 as an actor and then playwright for New York’s the Group Theatre. His first play for the Group, Waiting for Lefty (1935), immediately launched him as the most celebrated American playwright of the 1930s. Five major Broadway productions of his plays followed in that decade and introduced theatre audiences to subject matter and language that had never before been heard on the American stage. This work deeply influenced generations of American playwrights to follow. Odets’ other best-known plays include Awake and Sing!; Paradise Lost; Golden Boy; Rocket to the Moon; Clash by Night; The Big Knife and The Flowering Peach. Screenplay credits include None but the Lonely Heart; Humoresque; Sweet Smell of Success and The Story on Page One. He also directed both None but the Lonely Heart and The Story on Page One. Alongside Golden Boy, two more of Odets’ greatest plays will be revived later this year: Waiting for Lefty will be produced in New York by the Classic Stage Company and Awake and Sing! will be presented on Broadway at the Manhattan Theatre Club.

Isobel is an award-winning composer known for her scores for film, television, ballet, and theatre, alongside her work in electronic and contemporary classical music. She works in a wide range of genres, extending across large-scale orchestral music, electronic sound design, experimental music, and songwriting. Isobel’s album releases include her 2025 album Objects, her 2022 album VIII in collaboration with 12 Ensemble, singles Illuminations and September, and 2015’s Music for Strings.
